Instructions for Hirers

Before your event – to confirm with the booking secretary

  • Are you selling alcohol? Please confirm you have a licence, or will be paying to use ours.
  • Pay the relevant fee.
  • Appoint a safety officer to oversee evacuation. This cannot be the same person as named on an alcohol licence.
  • Notify us if you require the kitchen or stage.

On the day – setting up

  • Keep all exits clear.
  • Be considerate of our neighbours; park with care (do NOT park opposite driveway entrances).
  • Leave the games equipment alone, e.g. billiards table and table tennis items. This is not village hall property.
  • The covered billiards table can be used as a table space. Please ask if the light above it will also be needed.

On the day – clearing up

  • Return chairs and tables to the storage room. Assistance is available to move the staging.
  • Empty all internal bins – in one bag if suitable – into the appropriate wheelie bins outside the kitchen door.
  • Clean and clear away all used items in the kitchen.
  • Brush and vacuum as necessary (equipment in tall kitchen storage cupboard).
  • Return heating to stand-by position (‘6 o’clock’).
  • Turn off all lights (including external ones if used) and any equipment used, including in the kitchen. Follow the instructions on items that have them, to help with this. Cloakrooms/hallway lights turn off automatically.
  • Lock up and return the key.

Many thanks for your care. We hope you enjoy your time here.
